The 11th Meeting of the APSN Council was held in Singapore from November 13-14, 2018, with council members from 14 economies and their delegations attending the meeting. Mr. Marc-yves Bertin was elected as President of the APSN Council. Mr. Bertin thanked the Council for its trust and expressed commitment to serve the Council in the coming years. The meeting discussed Five-Year Strategic Plan, Implementation Plan of the APSN Study Center and Action Plan for 2019.


The APSN secretariat comprehensively reported the Progress Report for 2018, the Revised APSN Constitution, the Implementation plan of GPAS 2018 and the Outcomes of 2018 GPAS Workshop, APSN Financial Statement for 2017 and the Budget for 2019. The Council adopted the APSN 10th Anniversary Declaration and the receipts of APSN 10th Anniversary Contribution Award. The Council identified the topics for the 2019 APSN seminar as Digital Innovation and Port.


The voluntarily report regarding the port development of their economies was a new agenda of the Meeting. Seven economies, including Canada, China, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Thailand the United States and Viet Nam, made presentations to introduce their port development. The participants expressed that it was very fruitful and hoped to remain it as a regular item in future agenda.


The Council sincerely thanked the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore for the support of the Meeting.
