On May 15, 2025, the First APSN President Meeting in 2025 was held successfully. Ms. Sonya Read, President of the APSN Council; Mr. Jiravich Klomperee, Second Vice President of the APSN Council; Mr. Fei Weijun, Dr. Jia Dashan, and Mr. Tan Cheng Peng, the APSN Senior Consultant Team, and Dr. LI Qing, Secretary-General of APSN and the Secretariat were in attendance.
China, as the host economy of the APSN Events 2025, also joined the 1st President Meeting. The Chinese delegation composed of Ms. Zhang Siyue, Official of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Transport of China; Mr. Yu Chentao, Director of International Cooperation Department, Shandong Port Group, and Mr. Du Chenghao, Deputy Supervisor of International Cooperation Department, Shandong Port Group; and Mr. Shao Tianzeng, Assistant Researcher of China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, Ministry of Transport of China.
The President Meeting was chaired by Ms. Sonya Read, President of the APSN Council. The meeting had extensive discussions on the planning and preparatory work of the APSN Events 2025, including the APSN Forum 2025, the 17th Meeting of the APSN Council and the 14th Meeting of the Advisory Board. The 1st President Meeting also discussed other key actions of the APSN Action Plan for 2025, including Update on GPAS 2025, Update on APEC Port Study Center, as well as planning for the 2nd President Meeting in 2025.
The meeting decided to hold the APSN Events 2025 on November 18-21 in Qingdao, China. The APSN Forum on Shaping the Sustainable Future of Port Communities (APSN Forum 2025) will be held on November 18-19, the 14th Meeting of the APSN Advisory Board on November 20 and the 17th Meeting of the APSN Council on November 20-21. The APSN welcomes all APSN Members and APEC port and port-related stakeholders to join the APSN Forum 2025 in the fabulous city of Qingdao this November.
The APSN President Team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to China for hosing the APSN Events 2025 and to the Secretariat for its excellent preparation for organizing the President Meeting. The 2nd President Meeting in 2025 is planned to be held in September or October.
