On May 26, 2023, the APEC Port Services Network (APSN) Secretariat held an online meeting with the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). Dr. Jia Dashan, the Secretary General of the APSN, and Mr. Patrick Verhoeven, the Executive Director of the IAPH attended the meeting.

The APSN Secretariat made introductions to IAPH on its main initiatives in recent years, including its Annual Forum, the Green Port Award System, the APEC Port Development Report, and the APEC Port Database. It also invited IAPH to attend the APSN Annual Forum held in Bangkok, Thailand in October this year.

IAPH briefly introduced its relevant work carried out in the fields of climate, energy, port resilience, data collaboration, and sustainable development, and proposed that both parties sign a memorandum of understandings to further strengthen the cooperation on jointly promoting the sustainable development for global ports. Secretary General Jia Dashan readily accepted the relevant proposal.
