APSN Forum 2022 Opens on October 18, and 11 ports from 6 economies win the GPAS Award

The APSN Forum on Safe and Inclusive Pandemic Recovery of APEC Port Industry (APSN Forum 2022) opens on October 18, 2022. The APSN Forum 2022 co-hosted by APSN and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) as a hybrid event in Manila and virtually.

 

The APSN Forum 2022 brought together senior officials from port authorities, industry leaders from port operators and shipping lines, researchers from academic field, and senior officials from international organizations and other stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region to exchange ideas and share views of pandemic recovery of the APEC ports in order to help the port and related sectors to cope with the future challenges.

 

In the opening session of the APSN 2022 Forum in Manila, the Philippines, Mr. Marc-Yves Bertin, President of the APSN Council announced the 2022 APSN GPAS Award Recipients, as follows:

Ø Hutchison Ports (Thailand) Limited (Thailand)

Ø Johor Port Authority (Malaysia)

Ø Jurong Port (Singapore)

Ø Kuantan Port (Malaysia)

Ø Lannan Berth # 15 of Lanshan Port, Port of Rizhao (China)

Ø Manila International Container Terminal (The Philippines)

Ø Manila South Harbor (The Philippines)

Ø No.9 Branch Company Of Qinhuangdao Port Co., Ltd (China)

Ø Penang Port (Malaysia)

Ø Salaverry Terminal Internacional S.A (Peru)

Ø Taicang Wugang Terminal (China)

The Council of the APSN recognizes the high caliber and excellent environmental actions and leadership demonstrated by these recipients. Their efforts examplify the committments and contributions of marine shipping industry to the environmental responsibility.

The GPAS program is a green evaluation system for ports in the APEC region. It represents an integral part of APEC Transportation Working Group's ongoing efforts to promote the green growth of the port industry. Since its launch in 2016, 45 ports in nine economies have been awarded the GPAS.
