The First APSN President Meeting in 2024 was held successfully on April 18 virtually. Ms. Sonya Read, President of the APSN Council; Capt. Mohamad Halim Ahmed, First Vice President of the APSN Council; Mr. Jiravich Klomperee, Second Vice President of the APSN Council; Mr. Fei Weijun, Mr. Tim Meisner, Dr. Geraldine Knatz and Dr. Jia Dashan, APSN Senior Consultant Team, and the Secretariat were in attendance.

The President Meeting was chaired by Ms. Sonya Read, President of the APSN Council. The meeting had extensive discussions on the planning and preparatory work of the APSN events 2024, including the APSN Forum 2024, the 16th Meeting of the APSN Council and the 13th Meeting of the Advisory Board. The 1st President Meeting also discussed other key actions of the APSN Action Plan for 2024, including Update on GPAS 2024, Update on APEC Port Study Center, Plan for 2024 APEC Green Port and Shipping Development Forum, Update on APSN Membership Management, Update on Networking with International Organizations and other Stakeholders, as well as planning for the 2nd President Meeting in 2024.

The meeting decided to hold the APSN Events 2024 on October 22-25, 2024 in Sabah, Malaysia. The APSN Forum on Green Shipping Corridors, the 13th Meeting of the APSN Advisory Board and the 16th Meeting of the APSN Council will be co-hosted by the Malaysia Marine Department. All APSN Members and APEC port and port-related stakeholders are welcome to join the APSN Forum 2024. 

The APSN President Team expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Malaysia for hosing the APSN events 2024 and to the Secretariat for its excellent preparation for organizing the President Meeting. The 2nd President Meeting in 2024 is planned to be held in September.
