The Port of Guangzhou has started a container rail service to central China city Changsha's East Railway Station. The service is jointly operated by Guangzhou Guanlian Logistics Co Ltd and Hunan Nanhua Logistics Co Ltd. The cargo loading and unloading bays will be in the Huangpu port area, Guangzhou Container Terminal (GCT), Xinsha Terminal and Guangzhou PSA Logistics Co Ltd in Guangzhou and Nanhua Logistics' freight yard at the Changsha East Railway Station.

Freight rates for cargo from Guangzhou to Changsha will be CNY2,950 (US$431) and CNY900 for each laden and empty TEU, CNY4,900 and CNY1,500 for each laden and empty FEU.

For moving boxes from Changsha to Guangzhou, the freight rate will be CNY2,150 and CNY900 for every laden and empty TEU, CNY4,000 and CNY1,500 TEU for each laden and empty FEU.

For those from Guangzhou to Changsha and back, freight rate will be CNY2,550 per TEU and CNY4,800 per FEU (including moving empties from Guangzhou to Changsha for loading and unloading).
