On November 16, 2021, the APEC Smart Port Development Forum was successfully held virtually. Dr. Jia Dashan, Secretary-General of APEC Port Services Network (APSN), announced the recipients of the Green Port Award System (GPAS) 2020 and 2021 at the Forum. Fifteen (15) ports from nine (9) APEC member economies, including six (6) re-applicants, won GPAS awards in the last two years, eight (8) ports in 2020 and the other seven (7) in 2021.
The APSN Green Ports of 2020 are:
Kai Tak Cruise Terminal from Hong Kong, China;
Port Klang from Malaysia;
Port of Hualien from Chinese Taipei;
Port of Singapore from Singapore;
Qingdao Port Dongjiakou Ore Terminal Co., Ltd. from China;
Tan Cang– Cai Mep International Terminal from Viet Nam;
Tianjin Port Alliance International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. from China; and
Zhangjiagang Port Group Gangsheng Bulk Terminal from China.
The APSN Green Ports of 2021 are:
Bangkok Port from Thailand;
CHN ENERGY Huanghua Port Co., Ltd. from China;
Hoping Industrial Port Corporation from Chinese Taipei
Jiangsu Jiangyin Port Group Co., Ltd. from China;
Port of Cagayan de Oro from the Philippines;
TP Punta Lobitos – Antamina from Peru; and
Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal from China.
